Who am I?

Hi guys, this is my first attempt at this. I wanted to have a way to share my opinions on things without causing arguments. This blog isn’t meant to reach a lot of people, just to give me somewhere to share my feelings.

First, about this blog: PLEASE DON’T BRING HATE HERE! American politics is fueled by hatred, and I want no part of it. I would love to create a constructive conversion to try to bridge the space between political views, but not to cause fights or create anger towards people. I’ll do my best to never just react to an issue while I still very hot, angry feelings about it.

Next, about my views: Growing up, I was a very closed minded far right conservative. I’ve always been a registered Independent because I hate the 2-party system, but as I have grown older, I have developed more moderate/libertarian views. I truly feel that most political issues are more complicated than either political party wants to admit, and many times there isn’t a clear-cut answer. I will admit that I don’t know the right answer to most issues.

It’s also important to understand my religious background. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I truly believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ and follow the teaching of living Prophets and Apostles, regularly worship in the temple, and attend church services every week. I served a two-year, full-time mission for my church in Lubbock, TX. My religious views do bleed over into my political views, but I try not project my religious beliefs onto other people. I interpret the scriptures quite literally when they teach us not to judge others, but I’ll admit I’m not always perfect at it.

One final note: Please no grammar trolls. English was the most difficult subject in school for me, and I apologize for my grammatical errors. Spell check is the only reason I have made it as far in life as I have.

If you’re here, thanks! But honestly, this is more for me than it is for you.
